Pediatric
Behavioral Health Services

We partner with you to optimize mental health and resilience throughout your child's childhood, adolescence, and transition to young adulthood (e.g., 18-25-ish). Our approach ensures that care is individualized to meet your child where they are and to fit their unique needs. We partner with kids and parents on collaborative treatment goals. Active Support and monitoring for behavioral and psychiatric conditions includes providing continuous support and tracking progress over time. Care often includes specialist referrals - we leverage our trusted network of other specialists to help you receive team-based care when appropriate.

Our comprehensive psychiatric evaluation process typically consists of three visits:

Visit 1: Parent/Guardian Only (for patients under 18) - This initial visit focuses on gathering detailed historical information. We will discuss your concerns, goals, and your child's comprehensive health history, including previous treatments, therapies, and medications.

Visit 2: Patient Assessment - This visit involves assessment of symptoms through the use of evidence-based assessment and screening tools and a clinical interview. Occasionally, more than one patient assessment visit is needed in order to administer specialized assessments. This visit is typically a patient-only visit, though parents of very young children often find it helpful to remain nearby.

Visit 3: Patient + Parent/Guardian - The final intake visit is a feedback session at which we will discuss  initial diagnostic impressions and begin to formulate a collaborative treatment plan. â€‹

An integrative approach to behavioral health and wellness combines evidence-based therapies for common psychiatric disorders with a variety of evidence-informed interventions unique to your child. This approach may include:

  • Lifestyle Modifications: Optimizing sleep, nutrition, and physical activity.

  • Nutritional psychiatry interventions: Use of foods and/or specific nutrients to aid in treatment of psychiatric/behavioral disorders and to promote optimal mental health.

  • Referrals: Connecting patients with a trusted network of other providers (e.g., therapists, dietitians, and others) as needed.

  • Mind-Body Interventions: Mindfulness, meditation, imagery, relaxation, grounding techniques, etc. Some of these approaches have a very strong evidence base for their role in promoting mental wellness!

  • High-Quality Supplements: Recommending vitamins, minerals, and other supplements to support overall health. In partnership with Fullscript online pharmacy & vendor of high quality supplements.

Additionally, treatment plans may be informed by laboratory tests including specialized pharmacogenomic testing which often allows us to tailor interventions more precisely.

We believe in individualized care, understanding that no treatment is one-size-fits-all.

parental guidance and support

We offer comprehensive guidance and support for parents, equipping you with the tools and knowledge to effectively understand and address your child's behavioral and mental health needs. Our services include:

  • Educational Resources: Providing information and recommendations to help leverage behavioral health support in educational settings.

  • Practical Strategies: Teaching effective parenting techniques for supporting your child's mental health while empowering parents to parent effectively.

  • Team Collaboration: It takes a village! Often, others are involved in your child's care; our experience has been that active collaboration among team members provides the best support possible.

A Professional Nursing Corporation

Our practice is not in network with any insurance companies. Being out of network allows us to structure care within

longer appointments to discuss lifestyle interventions, including sleep, nutrition, evidence-based nutraceuticals, and movement as part of an integrated approach to care that complements medication treatment, as appropriate. This approach often minimizes the need for use of prescription medications. Traditional care dictated by insurance companies is typically delivered in much briefer visits that does not allow for the type of relationship-building that we value.

We provide superbills (detailed accounting of the service received, diagnosis code(s), and charges), which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits on your insurance plan. Please check with your insurance about whether you have out-of-network benefits, as these may be available to use to pay for services. Please reach out directly at pediatricwellnesspartners@gmail.com to request a current fee schedule. Limited discounted fee slots may be available for those significantly impacted by the Los Angeles area fires.

All patients are required to enter a valid credit card to be stored in the secure electronic health record and billing system to reserve an appointment slot. Failure to enter credit card information prior to the day of the appointment may result in cancellation of the visit.

Good Faith Estimate: In accordance with the No Surprises Act and Title 45, section 149.610 Code of Federal Regulations, consumers may request an estimate of anticipated costs prior to the start of services, which will be provided within 3 business days.
